The Aldersley Arena Leisure Paralympics event ( Wolverhampton ), November 18th
This SP8 , Wolverhampton led, activity, began as a result of an article/interview on the Foundation by the Wolverhampton Express and Star newspaper. The organisers of the Paralympic event spotted the interview with the Founder, liked what they saw and invited us to attend!
This resulted in our appearance at the Aldersley Arena Leisure Centre on the 18 November, enabling us to participate in an Olympic inspired event for those disabled and special needs children and with special reference to the Paralympic 2012!
SP8 of the Art was enthusiastically received by 200 children from schools in the region. During this event the Wolverhampton Director of Education commended the Foundation for participating, and offered his support for future SP8 of the Art creative activity in the area
3 new professional faces appeared in Speight of the Art t shirts, helping to give those needy children some 5 ½ hours of enjoyment and entertainment. Most impressive those performances were too, from namely:
1) Chuckle Production who provided mesmeric song and dance movement and flag production, together with
2) Sarah Evans who opened all of our eyes with the beautiful silk painting work of the Olympic torch produced with the children and Sarah together.
The theme of the Olympics and its true spirit were so clearly evident and the occasion inspiring to all who attended.
David Chesters gave the Founder excellent support with the setting of the SP8 stands and his photography of individuals (where permissions had been granted from either parents or carers to do so). The organisers applauded our efforts and local school now want more of the same!
Well done the team!
