Friday December 2nd 2011 - Prize Your Eyes - Moorfields Hospital, London - Art competition awards

Following involvement in the judging of the Competition, the Founder was invited to attend and asked to present prizes for the Art Competition held this year in the children's section of the Moorfields Eye Hospital!

Professor Peter Shah, our Patron and instigator of the Prize Your Eyes competition was also on hand to deliver to those children and parents alike, who were present, an address highlighting the dangers of eye damage and its prevention.

Some delightful and thought provoking pieces of work were on display and both Peter and Jo Abbot, his consultant and co author of an article to appear in the British Medical Journal, were to be complimented on the success of the event.

The article, scheduled for issue this month will include references to the competition, the activity of Speight of the Art in coordinating the competition throughout the United Kingdom (including the introduction to Prize Your eyes of St Margaret's Ward School, Tunstall, Stoke on Trent - Robbie William's old school and the Birmingham childrens hospital respectively).

In 2012, Speight of the Art will continue, with the support of Professor Peter Shah, to promote this invaluable statement of individual protection. What must it be like to be visually oblivious to the beautiful changes of nature? How luck y we are be able to see each other.

If you, your organisation or school would like to get involved in Prize Your Eyes and help us get this message to children everywhere to look after their sight, please contact us!
