SPEIGHT OF THE ART AND THE BIG SOCIETY

David Cameron is quite right to remind us all of our obligations as individuals to the needs of those neighbours around us in society at large.

But one has to ask where do society’s priorities lie? - a debate that will arouse passion, indignation and even loss of friendship, if pushed to the limit.

For Speight of the Art there is absolutely no doubt as to where our priorities lie. Quite simply, we serve, and will continue so to do, the best creative interests of the children of the United Kingdom . The nation’s most prized asset.

The experience of the last 21/2 yrs have left indelible impressions in the minds of all of us at Speight of the Art . The sudden awareness of a child recognising that he/she had latent creative talent, of which they themselves were not aware, has been an emotional experience on many occasions. And none more so that when a parent too recognises this talent in their offspring. This awakening permits a family to work together, helping to develop these new found skills to the betterment of a softer more gently society.

In 2011 Speight of the Art is extremely busy working in every avenue of society! Schools, hospitals, theatres and retails shops continue to be a strong focus of our attention.

We continue Mark ’s voyage nationwide – blessed with wonderfully supportive professional artists, loyal colleagues and a small army of talented volunteers. Do wait until our next exciting announcement in 2 weeks time inviting you to see us in action at a key national venue!

BIG SOCIETY? WE ARE IN IT/ WHY NOT VOLUNTEER WITH US AND HELP US TO BECOME - AS WE DOUBTLESS WILL BE - THE BIG CREATIVE PLAYERS IN THE BIG SOCIETY OF TOMORROW.

Best wishes

Oliver Speight
