Coalbrookdale event a great success!

Coalbrookdale Primary School ‘Speight of the Art’ Art Event November 9th-13th

The whole week was fantastic. The aim of the week was to assist the School in delivering high standard art workshops in a variety of different art forms within the School environment. The theme for the week was ‘Present, Past and Future’. Specialist ‘Speight of the Art’ Artistes from all over the UK volunteered their talents and skills and ensured the Children had a superb art inspiring week.

Artistes who participated in the week included:- Olly Jones a Portrait Painter. Ian Cook the Celebrity Motor Car Artist, Chris Ryder a Caricaturist, Simon Fielder the Didgeridoo Specialist, Megan Davies a local Artist, Marie Leeds a Face Painter, Ethan Mark a Magician and Ritchie Walton an entertainer who dressed as ‘Storm Trooper’.

An opening assembly started the week with Oliver talking to the children about the week ahead and the benefits of art and a showing of Mark’s montage.

Different Art workshops took place throughout the whole week enjoyed by all of the Children and Olly Jones produced with the children a huge portrait of Van Gough which was absolutely amazing.

The Friday assembly closed the Art week with Certificate and Trophies presentations given by ‘Storm Trooper from Star Wars’. An Art exhibition followed in December to celebrate the week and to exhibit the fantastic Art work of the Children.

We had a great response from the children, teachers and parents. To read some of the comments click here
