Derby McDonald’s Friends and Family Centred Art Event
‘Pinnies’, Chalks, Clay, Pencils, Children’s and adult’s happy, smiley faces represented another successful ‘Speight of the Art’ Event held at McDonald’s at Markeaton in Derby on July 18th. A fantastic Art Event, a day full of fun and Art activity with 100 Children local to the Derby area. Also present were visiting Children to Derby from Chernobyl who had been hosted from the Charity Chernobyl lifeline. Oliver Speight attended and presented the Event organised by myself Jilly Stubbs.

Last week we attended the school’s 2010 Art Week providing a stunning array of artistic talent for the undoubted benefit of the 220 children of the school.

Speight of the Art has recently been profiled on the Praxis Art and Health Network website and in their publication. Praxis is the arts and health network for the West Midlands region, bringing people together who are involved in arts and health to reflect on their work and share good practice. Newcastle McDonald’s Art Event June 6th, 2010
Another fantastic Speight of the Art event at McDonald’s Newcastle, Staffordshire, hosted by McDonald’s Franchisee Eddie Lligdowicz. The event was attended by 90 children and their families.
The restaurant was beautifully decorated with multi coloured balloons, superb Children’s art work borrowed from Weston Coyney Junior School paved the walls.
The theme for the event was ‘Families and Art at Home’ and the aim was to inspire and encourage Children into Art in a family centred, fun and happy atmosphere.

Speight of the Art would like to extend a warm welcome to Tina Richmond. Tina, who is Marks elder sister, has been busy spreading the word about the Foundations work, helping to raise its profile through the media.

2 years ago last week Mark died but his journey continues in a glorious vein. Happy faces greet Speight of the Art wherever we go.
'Speight of the Art' at Newcastle Under Lyme School Art Week
A great event organised by Jilly Stubbs and her Staffordshire team took place at Newcastle Under Lyme school in March. ‘Speight of the Art’ was an integral part of the schools Art Week and guest artists worked with children in many disciplines from caricatures to painting with remote-control cars.
Coalbrookdale event a great success!
Coalbrookdale Primary School ‘Speight of the Art’ Art Event November 9th-13th
The whole week was fantastic. The aim of the week was to assist the School in delivering high standard art workshops in a variety of different art forms within the School environment. The theme for the week was ‘Present, Past and Future’. Specialist ‘Speight of the Art’ Artistes from all over the UK volunteered their talents and skills and ensured the Children had a superb art inspiring week.

Art Loves Haiti
Supporting the relief effort in Haiti through art.
Art Loves Haiti, organised by internationally recognised artist, Sarah Larnach is an auction of artwork to support the relief efforts in Haiti. Artists from all over the world have contributed some of their artwork for the cause and all proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Save the Children Haiti Emergency Appeal.
