Countdown till Oliver is back in Northern Ireland!
Just to keep all of you folks in Northern Ireland updated, Oliver and Francoise will arrive in the province on Friday the 13th, we will be firstly meeting with Lesley Quinn of Creative Youth Partnerships, we then will head up North and in the afternoon at 2PM we will be back to revisit CARNALRIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL,PORTRUSH. Since Olivers last visit to the school, we have started our afterschool art club for the Primary 7 children. We have started initially with paper lantern making.
Saturday 14th - Visit to Garvagh,to see some of the work that has been going on over there, in the morning we will see some Scottish Dancing and see the school of Harp that is held in the GADDA Building. We will after lunch visit the museum and meet with one of the historians and then see a St Patricks Day kids art workshop.
Saturday evening will be in the MAGHERABUOY HOTEL PORTRUSH CO ANTRIM 7.30PM
This will be an opportunity for anyone who would like to come along and hear Oliver talk of the Speight of the Art Foundation, update everyone on what has been happening over the past few months, we will then have a display of Irish Dancers from the MARLENE DUNLOP SCHOOL OF IRISH DANCING. this will be followed by a great fun filled evening which involves audience participation! Phoenix Community Drum Circle will be there getting everyone to join in and raise the roof!
Sunday - Sightseeing
Monday - Meeting with Coleraine Mayor, youth projects, Causeway Museum Services
afternoon visit to the Westbann area of Coleraine, 3pm to see PLAYHOUSE AFTERSCHOOL CLUB, Anthea Ridley has extended the invitation to any other schools in the area who would like come along.
St Patricks Day .. All day in Ballycastle, meeting up with David Quinney -Mee, Rachel Craig and many others involved with the Youthlinks project.
In the afternoon we will see some traditional heavy horse ploughing and possibly end the evening with a wee St Patricks cheer!
