If you needed to describe 'Art' to someone what would you say?

If you needed to describe 'Art' to someone what would you say?

For instance if a child came to you and said:-

'What is Art?'

What would YOUR answer be, not the one in a dictionary, but YOUR answer?

I remember as a child always asking, and no one could give me an answer, they all just said:-

'Look at it and you know.'

.......and to be honest, I looked but never did 'know'.

Art is how you express yourself, wheather it be drawing a picture, writing a poem, or dancing a dance. When other people see it, what ever it may be you have created they will feel an emotion. Art is the process of making people feel

For example, drawing a picture of a person with a big smily face conveys the feelings of happiness.

A dance where you are a scary monster may bring fear to the viewer.

I'm not really good at these kinds of things :)
