Sp8 of the Art were invited to join the Mayor of London's Children's Art Day
on 9th July and the London Sp8 of the Art team, staged an event that was the highlight of the day.

Alleyn's School Dulwich very kindly allowed us to use their school campus and their state of the art theatre for the day.
Sp8 of the Art are indebted to their hospitality and for their assistance and support.

We had 3 live interactive workshops, two artists demonstrating their skills
followed by a sensational live art show in the Michael Croft Theatre presented by
Kirsten O'Brien and Mike Fischetti. See the press release attached for the artists and presenter details.
We are indebted to Kirsten and Mike for donating their precious time to make the show a huge success.

We brought the house down in Dulwich. We made so much noise that the Mayor dispatchd London's cultural secrteary, Munira Mirza,
to see what all the fuss was about. Check out the photographs at http://www.speightoftheart.org.uk/category/image-galleries/regional-even... , along with more on Jenny's photo site www.photobucket.com/sp8london
Munira was very taken by the workshop activity and the kids gave her a rousing reception
She promised to take the Sp8 of the Art message back to the Mayor of London.
We cannot wait to do it all again Mr Mayor !

Every one of the 300 children from across the London Boroughs played a part in the workshops and later, with much
uproar in the theatre, they enjoyed the Live Sp8 of the Art Extravaganza. The children screamed for more at the end and
we now realise at Sp8 of the Art, that we could probably fill The Albert Hall or even Wembley Stadium in the not too distant future!

Look out London, Sp8 of the Art have most definitely arrived.

Big thanks to every one for their work on the day and
look forward to our next Sp8 of the Art event

Yours

Martin
