Lots of fun at the Youth 4 Youth festival!.
Its been a long day at the Youth 4 youth festival in Kingswood!
It was a bit of a slow start, and as we were tucked away in a back room not many people knew we were there. After a quick putting up of some hastily made signs with arrows pointing our way, & one of our crew ( Good old Steve!) going around handing out lots of leaflets and herding up a few people in our direction, a slow trickle of folk started showing interest.
We met some lovely kids, most of who were up for getting stuck in with paint, glue glitter, pens and enthusiasum. There were some amazing pieces of artwork produced today, we really enjoyed seeing how with a bit of coaxing to the people saying 'but I'm rubbish at art!'... plenty of self portraits & decorated fish were the results of just having a go and came out pretty good!
A huge thanks to Youth 4 youth for letting us have a stand and us getting glitter EVERYWHERE (we did sweep up after ourselves...) & a massive thanks to my sister Dawn & mate Steve for coming with me to help promote Speight of the art and helping out with everything.
The music was still rocking in to the night as we left, but we needed a cupper 'n' sit down so left everyone to it!
A lot of people have expressed interest in getting involved with the foundation in the Bristol area and a lot of people took leaflets so will hopefully be checking out the website for further information. So, watch this space, things are finally moving along in Brizzle! We are on the up!
Cheers, Julie. xx
PS.. Thanks also to the parents who gave permission for us to photograph their kids for the website. If any of the parents or kids would like to get hold of any the photos, please email me & I will email the images to you. juliesinderberry@yahoo.com
