Hi, I'm Julian Roberts a fashion designer
I am a fashion designer and film-maker, and have shown 13 collections at London Fashion Week under 5 label names, as well as being the Creative Director for SuperSuper Magazine’s two LFW group shows in 2007.
I am the Fashion Host of BBC Blast Fashion online.
A scholar and teacher I have given many classes, lectures, and demonstrations in the UK and throughout Europe and America. I set up the new fashion course and workshops at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK in 2004, and now lecture MA Mixed Media Textiles at the Royal College of Art in London, as well as being a visiting lecturer at 8 universities around the world.
I have undertaken a variety of commissions including working as a consultant art director on special projects with Laura Ashley, undertaken a commission as pattern cutter for vestments worn by the Archbishop of Canterbury, and redesigned the Pizza Express staff uniform.
I am also the inventor of a garment pattern cutting method called 'Subtraction Cutting', which I demonstrate live in front of large audiences in America and the UK, teaching people of all ages and levels of expertise and keen to pass on my experience and skills to the next generation.
